- Already for 10 years, music centre Kinky Star is very known and appreciated in the Belgian Indie scene. What just started out as an independent record label, soon turned into an entire music centre, for musicians as well as music fans. As an independent label, Kinky Star has easily distinguished itself, by not setting limits to one style. All kinds of genres have been taken into consideration, as well as innovating projects. Not only bands like De Bossen, Sexmachines, Starfighter and Dr Pepper Family, that were part of a true rock 'n' roll revival, got their chance. Also bands like 't Hof van Commerce and Vive la fête were signed in, with great success. Today, Kinky Star is much more than just a record label. www.myspace.com/kinkystarrecords Our Club (Vlasmarkt 9, Ghent) is a meeting centre for music fans, with a live performance every Tuesday night. Every 2 weeks, there's a concert on Wednesday azfternoon, called JonGeduld. This concept offers young bands the chance to get stage experience, record some songs in a studio and do a radio interview on Urgent.fm. www.myspace.com/jongeduld Our Academy was founded to give musicians the opportunity to share in the experience and skills of professional artists. For example Eric Van Biesen (bassist of a.o. Gorki and Axelle Red) and David Vanbelleghem (drummer of a.o.
